Dr. Simon Stones is a multi-award-winning global patient engagement leader and medical communications specialist, and an internationally renowned patient and caregiver advocate. Living with juvenile psoriatic arthritis, hypermobility, fibromyalgia and inflammatory bowel disease since childhood, he began his research journey at just 18 as a young patient research partner. Simon currently serves as Chair of the EULAR PARE Committee, Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Salford, and Scientific Director at Amica Scientific, a medical communications company. He also sits on the EULAR Council and EULAR Congress Committee. For over 14 years, he has championed the involvement of patients and families in research and care. His lived experience research spans patient authorship, plain language publications, and supported self-management, work driven by an unwavering commitment to ensuring patient and family voices shape the future of rheumatology.
